His later works are highly praised as masterpieces of Shinto, especially those with flamboyant toranba (large wave-like hamon) reminiscent of Sukehira’s style. This piece by the second-generation Kanesada (Sakakura Gonnojō Terukane) showcases excellent jigane and superb craftsmanship.
Koshirae: Command Saber
Recently, this type of saber has become extremely rare, and this piece is in excellent condition.
Aoi Art’s Comment: He was a disciple of the first-generation Kanesada. After their encounter, he was adopted and took on the name Kanesada, signing as Echigo no Kami Kanesada. However, an official decree prohibited the inheritance of titles without permission, prompting him to change his name to Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane.
If polishing is desired, it is available for an additional 60,000 JPY.
