Special feature:
Mr. Issei Naruki (born in 1931) studied under the late Mr. Kaisyu Takahashi and dedicated many years to restoring iron tsuba from regions such as Owari, Akasaka, and Kanayama. He personally gathered iron sand from various parts of Japan and, through self-made tatara smelting, worked diligently to recreate the specific iron textures used in these traditional tsuba.
Works by this artist are often seen in the form of tsuba, but it appears that he also produced kogatana fittings such as this piece.
