We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This work is ranked as Jyojyo-saku among the works by Ushū-jū Yoshikuni.

Shape:A tanto with sakizori curvature.
The hada is clearly visible, making this a well-textured piece.
Jigane:The hada is prominent and well visible, typical of a hadamono piece.
Hamon:A nioi-deki ko-midare hamon.
The boshi turns back in a small round (komaru) shape.

Features:
Yoshikuni was a swordsmith from Dewa province and a student of Katō Tsunatoshi.
He was active in the late Edo period.
The koshirae is nearly complete, with a unified set of fittings, all finely crafted.

Kozuka: Silver base featuring a high-relief carving of large waves and what appears to be a bird.
Fuchikashira: Decorated with shell motifs using gold iroe.
Saya (Scabbard): Black with engraved patterns.
Kojiri: Decorated with shell motifs in gold iroe.
Kurikata: Decorated with shell motifs in gold iroe.
Fuchi: Decorated with shell motifs in gold iroe.
Koiguchi: Decorated with shell motifs in gold iroe.
Menuki: Decorated with shell motifs in gold iroe.
