We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for works by Yamato no Kami Fujiwara Ason Enju Masakatsu.
Habaki: Double-layered gold-plated habaki
Blade Length: 67.6 cm (26.61 in)
Curvature: 1.6 cm (0.63 in)
Mekugi Hole: 2
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.13 cm (1.23 in)
Width at Tip (Sakihaba): 2.01 cm (0.79 in)
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.70 cm (0.28 in)
Era: the late Edo period (1809)
Shape: wide and thick blade with deep curveture and long kissaki.
Jigane: Koitame hada with Masa and Chikei.
Hamon: Nie-deki Gunome midare with Sunagashi and long Kinsuji.
Features: Yamato Kami Fujiwara Ason Enju Masakatsu was a swordsmith of Dotanuki school. Although he is not well-known, judging from this piece, the workmanship is excellent. Intense Nie and Kinsuji is very attractive.
I believe it is a masterpiece on par with Gassan Sadakatsu.
As shown in the photos, there are some scratches.
