This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Miyairi Kozaemon Yukihira.
Habaki: Shakudo and solid gold habaki.
Blade Length: 43.8 cm (17.24 in).
Curvature: 0.7 cm (0.28 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.9 cm (1.54 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.79 cm (0.31 in).
Sword Weight: 575 g.
Era: Reiwa 3 (2021).
Shape: A robust wakizashi with a wide mihaba, bo-hi carved on both sides, and an iori-mune (three-sided ridge). It retains its original cutting edge and is in excellent healthy condition.
Jigane: Well-forged, tightly compact ko-itame hada producing a fine and refined jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare. The boshi returns in a small rounded (komaru) form.
Features: Kozaemon Yukihira, whose real name is Miyairi Kei, was born in Nagano Prefecture in 1957. He inherited the names of both his great-grandfather and father, adopting the name Kozaemon Yukihira in 1996. In 2000, he was recognized as a Mukansa swordsmith, the highest distinction for contemporary Japanese swordsmiths. This is a robust and healthy sun-nobi tantō-style wakizashi. While inheriting the exceptional craftsmanship of his father, the Living National Treasure Miyairi Yukihira, he pursued a refined style characterized by a beautifully transparent jigane and a graceful hamon. This is a robust wakizashi with a tightly forged jigane; however, Please note; there is an area on the blade where a repair has been attempted.
