Shape: wide, thick and stout blade carved with Bohi.
Jigane: Ko-itame and Ko-mokume covered with Ji-nie.
Hamon: Ko-gunome with Ashi, Yo, Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
Features:
Minamoto Masakage was a student of Minamoto Masao, one of the leading disciples of Minamoto Kiyomaro. The style of this work is reminiscent of Kiyomaro, featuring frequent and long kinsuji and sunagashi.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: An iron tsuba with a tortoiseshell pattern and an openwork design of pine trees.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo nanako-ji with a flower design.
Menuki: Dragon design
