This blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Akimoto Ikkansai Minamoto Akitomo.
Habaki: Single silver habaki.
Blade Length: 69.5 cm (27.36 in).
Curvature: 1.5 cm (0.59 in).
Mekugi Hole: 1.
Width at Base (Motohaba): 3.20 cm (1.26 in).
Width at Yokote: 2.29 cm (0.90 in).
Thickness of rim (Kasane): 0.63 cm (0.25 in).
Sword Weight: 840 g.
Era: April 12, 1972.
Shape: A robust katana with substantial mihaba, abundant original edge remaining, slightly deep curvature, and a long kissaki.
Jigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada forming a fine-quality jigane.
Hamon: Nie-deki with well-defined ko-ashi. The boshi returns in a rounded form.
Features: Akimoto Ikkansai Minamoto Akitomo was born on March 31, 1910. He studied under Kurihara Hikozaburo and Kasama Shigetsugu and was appointed as a Rikugun Jumei Tosho (Army-appointed swordsmith). He received awards in the Army Sword Encouragement Association competitions, including the Excellence Award, and was recognized as one of the accomplished swordsmiths of the Showa period.
