Features:
Kazusa-no-Kami Kaneshige was a swordsmith originally from Echizen who later worked in Edo. He is regarded as either the son or a disciple of Izumi-no-Kami Kaneshige and is considered the 2nd-generation Kaneshige. Izumi-no-Kami Kaneshige is believed to have been the teacher of Kotetsu, and Kazusa-no-Kami Kaneshige was a contemporary of Kotetsu. Their blade shapes and workmanship are known to be remarkably similar.

While many works by Kazusa no Kami Kaneshige exhibit a prominent　large patterned jigane with a conspicuous grain, this blade features a finely forged, tightly compacted jigane　on the hira-ji with delicate ji-nie. The hamon has a bright, soft nioikuchi and displays an exceptionally crisp and brilliant appearance.
