The sword has a wide and thick body with a deep curvature, and the point (kissaki) is slightly
longer. It is hollowed out on both sides, creating a graceful appearance.
Jigane (Blade Grain): Ko-itame (fine wood grain) with a smooth surface and well-defined jinie
(grain pattern).

Hamon (Temper Pattern): It has a choji midare pattern with ashi (feet) and tobiyaki (flying spark-
like patterns) mixed in.

Characteristics: Nisshū Kunihiro, born in 1959, learned the basics of sword making under the
guidance of swordsmith Andō Yukio. He has since achieved the status of “Unaudited
Swordsmith” through continuous efforts, and he has also worked on traditional Bizen-style
works, which are highly regarded. Further development is expected in the future.
