Shape: A wakizashi close to katana length, with standard width and thickness.
Jigane:Well-forged ko-itame hada with dense grain and clear jigane characteristic of Hizen work, with ji-nie appearing beautifully.
Hamon:Nie-based gunome-midare.
Inside the hamon, soft activity such as ko-ashi and ha are visible.
Features: Musashi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro was originally known as Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi in his early career.
Later, he changed his signature multiple times, including “Jūnin Tadayoshi,” “Musashi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro,” and finally “Hizen no Kuni Jū Fujiwara Tadahiro.”
He is one of the leading smiths of the Hizen Shinto school and is ranked as Saijyo Saku and Saijyo Ō Wazamono.
He was the biological father of Ōmi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro and was known as Hashimoto Shinzaemon, residing in Nagase, Hizen.
In Keicho 1 (1596), he went to Kyoto and became a disciple of Umetada Myoju.
In Keicho 3, he returned to Hizen and relocated to Saga Castle town.
In Genwa 10 (1624), he received the title Musashi Daijo and changed his name to Tadahiro.
He passed away on August 15, Kanei 9 (1632) at the age of 61.
His earliest signatures were “Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi,” later changing to “Jūnin Tadayoshi,” and finally using “Musashi Daijo Fujiwara Tadahiro” and “Hizen no Kuni Jū Fujiwara Tadahiro.”
