This piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Izumi no Kami Senjuin Minamoto Morimasa.

Shape: The blade is wide with moderate curvature.
Two parallel grooves are carved about 30 cm on the omote, and a bo-hi is carved approximately 30 cm on the ura.
Jigane: Fine steel with excellent forging.
Hamon: Made in nie-deki with a gunome-midare pattern.
The boshi turns back in a rounded shape.

Features: Known as Morimasa, his style resembles that of Kotetsu.
He is considered a skilled Edo-period smith, following after Yasutsugu and Kaneshige.

Aoi Art’s Comment: This work by Morimasa resembles the style of Yasutsugu.
The hamon is gunome-midare made in nie-deki, displaying a calm and elegant pattern.
The boshi turns back in a rounded manner.
Signatures may vary, including “Izumi no Kami Senjuin Morikuni Saku”, “Izumi no Kami Minamoto Kunizo Kore wo Tsukuru”, and “Izumi no Kami Senjuin Minamoto Morimasa Saku”.
