Shape: The blade is wide with a rounded mune. The kissaki is slightly long.
Jigane: The hada is clearly visible with strong activity in the jihada. The blade exhibits sunagashi and kinsuji in the ha, showing the workmanship in the Soshu tradition reminiscent of Norishige.
Hamon: The boshi turns down and rises roundly, with kinsuji included and a sweeping hakikake boshi.

Features: Kashu Masakage was a disciple of Etchu Norishige. His jigane is especially remarkable, and the hamon features small irregular gunome, reflecting a gentle fluctuation.

Aoi Art’s Comment: Kashu Masakage’s works display clearly visible hada, and this piece features a captivating and never-tiring gunome-midare hamon. The jigane is intensely forged with vivid sunagashi and kinsuji in the ha.
