Shape:This is a suriage mumei blade with standard width and thickness.
It has a shinogi-ji, and the masame-hada on the shinogi-ji is clearly visible.
Jigane:Well-forged ko-itame hada is clearly visible.
Hamon:Nie-based gunome-midare with a bright and clear appearance.

Features:Shoji Katsuya Naohide was the son of Naokatsu and grandson of Taikei Naotane.
He lived in Shitaya, Edo.
Born in 1833 (Tenpo 4) and passed away on September 6, 1905 (Meiji 38) at the age of 73.
His works resemble those of his father Naokatsu and display high skill.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round iron tsuba with openwork carving of pine trees. Iron bones (tekotsu) are visible on the rim.
Fuchikashira: Iron base with engraved rabbit motif.
Saya (Scabbard): Glossy black lacquered saya (kuro roiro).
Menuki: Design of plants and feathers.

Aoi Art’s Comment: There are a few minor edge chips (hakoré) visible on this blade.
Additionally, there is a flaw on the mune about 5 cm from the kissaki.
