Shape: The blade has a wide body and retains a clear signature despite having been suriage (shortened from the base).
It is a solidly made piece with a slightly deep curvature and an extended kissaki.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada well-forged into a distinctive zanguri-style steel texture.
Hamon: Made in nie-deki, featuring a flamboyant gunome pattern with a deep nioiguchi continuing consistently to the tip.
The nioiguchi is deep, with sunagashi and kinsuji activities visible in the blade.
The boshi is notare and returns in a round shape.
Features: Dewa Daijo Fujiwara Kunimichi was a student of Kunihiro.
His hamon is characterized by irregular gunome with sunagashi and kinsuji inside the blade.
Many of his works show a notare boshi returning in a rounded form.

Tsuba: Iron tsuba of nadegaku shape carved with a waterfall and human figures.
Fuchikashira: Shibuichi base with designs of susuki grass and the moon.
Saya: Glossy black lacquered saya.
Menuki: Carved design of a dragon.
Aoi Art’s Comment: This work by Dewa Daijo Fujiwara Kunimichi features a varied and dynamic gunome hamon.
Kunimichi is known for his flamboyant temper patterns that often appear wild and eye-catching, leaving a strong impression on the viewer.
Many of his blades show activities such as sunagashi and kinsuji in the blade.
