This particular piece is rated as a Jō-saku work for Fujiwara Tomoshige.

Shape: Slight inward curve with a bo-hi (groove) and accompanying soe-hi (secondary groove).

Hamon (Temper Line): Nioi-deki (based on a fine mist-like structure), straight temper line (suguha), though in some areas the pattern is faint.
Characteristics: This is a chūko-tō (medieval-period sword), ranked as jō-chū-saku (between good and medium quality), from Kaga Province.
Fujiwara Tomoshige was a swordsmith active around the Ōei era (1394–1428), known for well-forged grain structure (hada).
