Shape: slightly wide blade with small curveture.
Jigane: whitish jigane with Itame with Moku pattern.
Hamon: Konie deki Gunome and Shi, Yo and Sungashi.
Features:
The Shitahara school was a group of swordsmiths active from the late Muromachi period through the Edo period, mainly around the Hachioji area of present-day Tokyo. They are characterized by their distinctive grainy jigane (steel surface), and their swords were highly valued for practical use.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: iron base carved with a design of plum trees.
Fuchikashira: Shakudonanako-base carved with a Shishi-dog and bamboo.
Menuki: a design of Shishi dogs.
