He forged swords for the Yasukuni Shrine and was granted the name “Yasuyoshi” by the Minister of the Army in 1944 (Showa 19).
After the war, he temporarily ceased swordsmithing but resumed around 1951 (Showa 26), later winning various awards including Encouragement and Effort Awards.
He was selected eight times for shrine dedications and crafted military swords for high-ranking officers.
Born in Taisho 4, he is considered a fairly well-known swordsmith, likely to remain recognized as a maker of Yasukuni-to.

Around 1951 (Showa 26), he resumed work and developed his own style, aiming for old swords (koto), and won numerous awards.
Historical Background: During the war, he made Yasukuni-to at the shrine, but ceased production after the war.
He resumed swordsmithing around 1951 and began making original works freely.
This piece is an excellently crafted tanto mimicking a naginata-naoshi.
