The Bizen smiths of the early Muromachi period are known as “Oei Bizen.” Among them, Yasumitsu, along with Morimitsu, is recognized as one of the representative swordsmiths of this school.
This piece is a well-preserved tanto and a valuable work bearing a dated inscription from the Oei era.
