Golden Inscription: Ansei4, Hinoto-mi August, 20th, Honami Koen Tadachika(written seal mark)
安政四丁巳年八月二十日上之本阿弥光圓忠親
appraised by Hon’ami Kōen Tadachika on August 20, 1857.

We divide works in to Saijo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku,and Regular Saku.
This piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Kanemoto.

Blade Length: 64.8 cm (25.51 in)
Curvature: 2.1 cm (0.83 in)
Mekugi-hole: 2 holes (1 plugged)
Width at Base(Motohaba): 2.72 cm (1.07 in)
Width at tip(Sakihaba): 1.66 cm (0.65 in)
Thickness: 0.59 cm (0.23 in)
Blade Weight: 520g
Era: the late Muromachi period around 16th century

Shape: slightly thin blade with deep curvature.
Jigane: intense grain pattern with Itame, Mokume and flowing patterns.
Hamon: Ko-nie base pointed Funome

Features: The blade is beautifully carved well-balanced Katana and Koshirae is also good quality. The Jigane shows intricate pattens and beautiful. We recommend it.

Round-shaped iron tsuba with openwork carving of plum trees.
Fuchikashira: iron base
Menuki: Design of mice
Koziri: iron base carved with a frog.
