It is believed that Yoshiwara Kuniie created this piece with great spirit and dedication.
This Yoshiwara Kuniie was the father of Yoshihara Yoshindo and Yoshihara Shoji (Kuniie).
He was born in 1893 (Meiji 26) in Ibaraki Prefecture, and his real name was Yoshihara Katsukichi.
He was a disciple of Kasama Shigetsugu and passed away on May 20, 1970 (Showa 45).
Yoshihara Yoshindo and Yoshihara Shoji (Kuniie) learned many sword-forging techniques from their father, Yoshihara Kuniie, and achieved great mastery.
Please preserve this piece with great care.
There is a forging flaw (Kitaeware) approximately 2–3 cm in length on the omote side, around the middle of the monouchi area. Please place your order with this in mind.
