Features:
The Uda school was a group of swordsmiths who moved from Yamato Province to Etchū and flourished from the late Kamakura period through the Edo period. Works made before the Ōei era are referred to as Ko-Uda, while those made after are simply called Uda. This piece is believed to date from around the 16th century, a time when warfare was widespread across Japan, and it offers an enjoyable sense of age.
