We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This work is ranked as Jyo Saku among Mumei (Bushu Yasuie) swords with NBTHK Hozon Token.
Habaki: Gold-covered single piece

Sword Weight: 520 grams
Era: Edo period, around Kanbun era (circa 1661–1673)
Shape: Standard width and thickness with bohi (groove) carved on both sides, and slightly extended kissaki.
This piece resembles works previously attributed to Kotetsu as seen in earlier certification.
Jigane: Ko-itame hada well-forged with dense and refined texture.
Hamon: Nie-based, gunome-midare with deep nioiguchi.
Boshi is round with a narrowing turn-back.
Features: This sword was previously judged to be the work of Kotetsu but was later appraised as Bushu Yasuie in the NBTHK Hozon Token certification. This sword bears the cutting test inscription of Yamano Kaemon Nagahisa.
It records a test of cutting through two bodies, dated August 8th, Kanbun 3 (1663).
The hamon is bright and suggests excellent cutting ability.
Koshirae:
Tsuba: Shakudo nanako-ji tsuba with gold rim.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo migaki-ji with design of salt shop.
Saya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquered saya.
Menuki: Shakudo nanako-ji with design of a small boat and birds in gold inlay.
Aoi Art’s Comment: This is a mumei wakizashi attributed to Bushu Yasuie with gold inlay inscription by Yamano Kaemon Nagahisa.
The attached koshirae is of high quality.
