Yamagami Norihisa, born in 1940, is a swordsmith from Nigata prefecture. He studied under his father, Yamagami Akihisa and at Japanese swordsmtihing Institute of Kurihara Akihide. He has received numerous awards throughout his career.
This piece is considered to be of high quality, with a well-forged grain pattern that is clearly visible.
