We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
This sword is ranked as Saijyo Saku among works attributed to Mumei (Sa Hiroyuki, 左弘行).

Shape: Osuriage Mumei, wide and deep curved blade with big kissaki. Shinogi is thick and thinner toward the Mune.
Hamon: Nie-base notare with Ashi, Yo with thick Nioikuchi. Boshi is small rounded with little Hakikake.
Features: The Samonji and his disciples were active in Chikuzen in the Nanbokucho period. Hiroyuki is said to have been a swordsmith in Shohei era(1346-1370) and a son of Yukihiro. Samonji is counted among the Masamune Jittetsu, and Samonji and his disciples made beautiful jigane with Soshu-den style.
This blade is stout shaped blade with complex pattern of both jigane and Hamon showing characteristics of Samonji school.
