Senshu Banzai means celebrate long life.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyo-jyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length: 20.8 cm or 8.18 inches.
Sori : 0.0cm or 0.0 inches.
Mekugi : 4
Width at the hamachi : 2.1cm or 0.8 inches.
Kasane : 0.43cm or 0.16 inches.
The weight of the sword 130 grams.
Era : Late Muromachi period.
Shape: Onside is Kiri and one side is Shobu style.
Bo-hi is engraved rare Tanto.
Jigane: Itame-Hada well grained Jinie attached with Masame. Jinie attached and visible.
Hamon : Clear Niedeki-Suguha. Sunagashi and Kinsuji worked.

Special feature: The Uda school is said to have originated in Yamato province. The founder Kunimitsu moved to Echu province in the last Kamakura period. Consequently, the texture of jitetsu is a point worthy of appreciation of Uda School that was very good at making use of well-tempered iron’s special qualities. Especially conspicuous chikei appeals us strongly. Oei era (1394~) is the boundary between Ko-uda and Uda.
This is a very rare Tanto with gold inlay Mei Senju Banzai.
