The 1st-generation Motooki (Kaku Daihachi Motooki) studied under Suishinshi Masahide and initially took the name Hidekuni, using one character from his master\u2019s name. He later studied under Oku Yamato no Kami Motohira in Satsuma and changed his name to Motooki, again taking one character from his new master\u2019s name.<br \/>\nThe second-generation Motooki (Shoken Motooki), grandson of the first generation, studied under the seventh-generation Ishido Unju Korekazu.
