Era: late Muromachi period, <\/p>\n

Shape: wide and thick tanto
\nJigane: packed koitame hada
\nHamon: Gunomemidare with tight and thin nioikuchi. <\/p>\n

Characteristics: Fujiwara Kanesaki was a swordsmith whose lineage began with Heki Soemon in the late Muromachi period, regarded as the first-generation Inshu Kanesaki. Successive generations worked in Tottori and served the Ikeda family. “Myoichi” is thought to have been a title indicating an exceptionally fine work.<\/p>\n

This sword was specially commissioned by a samurai named Iwakoshi Masatada. There were some rusted areas, so I polished them myself,Tsuruta. Please excuse the amateur quality of the polishing.<\/p>\n
