\nShape: A well-proportioned katana with a standard mihaba, thick kasane, and substantial length. A suken is engraved on the omote, while a bonji character and futasuji-hi are carved on the ura.
\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with ji-nie.
\nHamon: Suguha with active ashi. The boshi is slightly pointed and turns back in a rounded form.<\/p>\n

Features: Higo no Kami Kuniyasu, whose personal name was Kobayashi Genzaemon, was the third son of the first-generation Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke and the younger brother of the second generation. His workmanship closely resembles that of the second-generation Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke. Suguha works by Kuniyasu are extremely rare, and this blade is an excellent example of that style.<\/p>\n

Historical Background: The Kanbun era (1661\u20131673) corresponds to the reign of the fourth Tokugawa shogun, Tokugawa Ietsuna.<\/p>\n
