\nThis blade is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Bishu Osafune Mori\u2b1c\ufe0e (Morimasa).
\nHabaki: Single silver habaki.
\nBlade Length: 26.7 cm (10.51 in).
\nCurvature: 0.3 cm (0.12 in).
\nMekugi Hole: 2.
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.65 cm (1.04 in).
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.43 cm (0.17 in).
\nSword Weight: 145 g.
\nEra: Nanbokucho period, March 1367.
\nShape: A tanto of standard proportions with bohi carved on both sides.
\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with standing grain and visible utsuri.
\nHamon: Ko-nie-deki with a slightly deep nioiguchi, forming a gentle notare. The boshi is yakizume-style.<\/p>\n

Features: Bishu Osafune Morimasa is believed to have been a member of the Omiya Morikage lineage. This blade dates from the Nanbokucho period and bears the date March, Joji 6 (1367).<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nTsuba: Vertically oval shakudo nanako tsuba carved with monkeys and birds of prey, decorated with gold iroe.
\nMenuki: Plant motif.
\nFuchi: Shakudo nanako ground carved with autumn grasses and insects, highlighted with gold iroe.
\nKashira: Horn.
\nSaya (Scabbard): Kaigara-nuri (textured “ray-skin style”) lacquered saya.
\nKozuka: Suaka nanako ground carved with a plum tree and bird, decorated with gold iroe.
\nKogatana: Included.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: Although the final character of the signature is not entirely legible, making it read “Mori\u2b1c\ufe0e,” the NBTHK Sword Museum identified the smith as Morimasa. Aside from the final character, the inscription remains clear and well preserved.<\/p>\n
