\n(Top Quality), Jojo-saku (Excellent Quality), Jo-saku (High Quality), and Futsujo-saku
\n(Regular Quality). This particular sword is ranked as Jo-saku in terms of its craftsmanship.
\nThe polishing quality is excellent.
\nWhole Shirasaya length: 81.5 cm or 32.08 inches.
\nBlade Length: 30.4 centimeters 11.97 inches.

\nMotohaba: 2.87 centimeters1.13 inches.
\nKasane: 0.89 centimeters 0.35 inches.
\nEra: Edo period, around Keicho era.
\nShape: It is a longer blade with a well-proportioned body and an elongated kissaki (point). On the back, there are engravings of a sword Ken and claws. Although the long kissaki
\ngives the impression of an antique blade, it actually dates back to the early Edo period, during Keicho.
\nJigane: It has a fine ko-itame hada (small wood grain pattern) with visible jinie (grain
\npattern) and occasional surface activity.
\nHamon: It exhibits a mix of bo-utsuri (haze-like effect) and choji (cloves) with a rounded turn at the tip.<\/p>\n

Special feature: Etchu no Kami Masatoshi, the fourth son of Seki Kanemichi, received the title
\nof Etchu no Kami and traveled to Kyoto during the Bunroku era. He produced a limited
\nnumber of works as a renowned swordsmith in Kyoto. He also crafted spears and
\nskillfully carved realistic claw engravings on bare blades, as seen in this particular work.

\nA word from Aoi Bijutsu: Masatoshi, who initially resided in Mino, joined his father, Seki
\nKanemichi, and his brothers, Tanba no Kami Yoshimichi and Iga no Kami Kanemichi, to
\npursue their craft in Kyoto. He later became the head of swordsmiths and took on the
\nresponsibility of overseeing the sword-making process. Masatoshi’s expertise lies in the
\nAshu tradition, and he produced exceptionally fine works. In the second generation, the
\nchrysanthemum pattern was added.
\nThis remarkable work by Etchu no Kami Masatoshi is highly recommended.<\/p>\n
