Era: eraly Edo period, late 17th century
\nShape: wide, thick and deeply carved blade with big kissaki.
\nJigane: Koitame and Itame with Ji-nie and Chikei.
\nHamon: Nie-based, gunome-midare pattern with deep nioiguchi.
\nThe boshi is large and stretches long into the tip.<\/p>\n

Features: Izumo no Kami Fujiwara Yoshitake is traditionally said to have been the son of Kunitake, a disciple of Horikawa Kunihiro.<\/p>\n

This sword is a bold and powerfully built example with an impressive, weighty presence. The upper portion displays a well-forged, tightly compact ko-itame hada with fine ji-nie. Near the habaki, however, the jigane becomes more pronounced, showing a larger grain pattern with chikei.<\/p>\n
