Features:
\nThe Mihara school was a group of swordsmiths who flourished in Mihara, Bingo Province, tracing their origins to Masaie, who worked in the late Kamakura period. At that time, Bingo Province contained many estates owned by temples and shrines in Nara, and it is believed that swordsmiths migrated from Yamato to Bingo. As a result, the workmanship of the Mihara school reflects strong Yamato influence, featuring a predominance of suguha with areas of flowing masame (straight grain) visible in the jigane. <\/p>\n
