Features:
\nThe 2nd-generation Echigo no Kami Kanesada was a renowned Osaka Shint\u014d swordsmith. He studied under the first-generation Kanesada and later became his adopted son, succeeding him as th 2nd generation. In 1680, he passed the title on to the first generation’s natural son and changed his own name to Sakakura Gonnoshin Terukane. He is also well known as one of the \u014c-Wazamono.
\nThis blade is of excellent quality, featuring an exquisitely forged jigane covered throughout with fine ji-nie and a bright, brilliant hamon with a deep nioiguchi. The overall workmanship is outstanding. According to the sayagaki written by Dr. Kanzan, this sword was once owned by the popular postwar Japanese actor Keiji Sada. \nKawachi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisuke was a swordsmith originally from Ise Province. He first entered the school of Horikawa Kunihiro in Kyoto and later studied under Echigo no Kami Kuninori. He subsequently moved to Osaka, where he worked alongside the first-generation Kunisada, who had trained in the same school.\u3000The prominent grain pattern of the steel is a characteristic feature frequently found in the works of the Horikawa school.<\/p>\n

Each of the fitting used in the koshirae is accompanied by NBTHK Certificate. According to the consignor, the koshirae was made by the master saya craftsman Takayama Kazuyuki, and genuine urushi lacquer was used throughout.
