A kake-mamori was an amulet worn around the neck by noblewomen and children during the Heian and Kamakura periods.<\/p>\n<p>Horie Okishige was a late Edo-period metalsmith who studied under the 2nd-generation Hamano Masayuki and \u014cmori Teruhide, and served as an official craftsman to the Hachisuka family.
