\nThis work ranks as Jyojyo Saku among the works of Mutsu ju Miyoshi Nagamichi (3rd generation).<\/p>\n
Habaki: Single-layer gold-covered habaki.
\nBlade Length: 59.5 cm (23.43 in).
\nCurvature: 0.5 cm (0.20 in).
\nMekugi Hole: 1.
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 3.0 cm (1.18 in).
\nWidth at Yokote (Sakihaba): 2.2 cm (0.87 in).
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.75 cm (0.30 in).
\nSword Weight: 560 grams.
\nEra: Edo period, Genroku 8 (1695).<\/p>\n
Shape: Slightly wide mihaba with somewhat thick kasane, shallow curvature, and a slightly elongated boshi.<\/p>\n
Jigane: Well-forged itame hada with ji-nie attached.<\/p>\n
Hamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare with a deep nioiguchi.<\/p>\n
Features: This is an excellent work by Mutsu ju Miyoshi Nagamichi (3rd generation).
\nThe inscription \u201cSeptember 11, Tenpo 2 (1831), Ichijikan Dotan-iri Okada Yasusada\u201d is not a gold inlay inscription, but it carries the same meaning as a tameshigiri inscription.
\nThis wakizashi was made by Miyoshi Nagamichi in August of Genroku 8 (1695), and was later used for a test cutting by Okada Yasusada on September 11, Tenpo 2 (1831).
\nCompared with works by the first generation, the quality is in no way inferior, making this a splendid work.
\nIt is an especially fine example with workmanship very similar to that of the first generation.
