\nEra: Edo period, around Meireki era (1655-1658).
\nShape: Wide width, slightly thick Kasane, extended Kissaki, with rather deep curvature, creating an excellent overall shape.
\nJigane: Darkish steel with a beautiful forging surface.
\nHamon: Nie-deki, Gunome Midare. The Nioiguchi is rather deep, with Sunagashi and Kinsuji activities. The Boshi has a deep Nioiguchi and turns back in a rounded manner.<\/p>\n

Features: The 1st and 2nd generation Monju Shigekuni produced excellent works using superior dark-colored steel and were ranked as Saijyo Saku smiths. An interesting point of this work is that the Mekugi Hole is larger than usual. The deep Nioiguchi gives this blade great charm.<\/p>\n
