\nThis work is ranked as Jyo Saku for Kanesada and Kanetaku.
\nHabaki: Solid copper, single layer with gold-colored finish.
\nBlade Length: 53.0 cm (20.87 in).
\nCurvature: 1.1 cm (0.43 in).
\nMekugi Hole: 2.
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.64 cm (1.04 in).
\nWidth at Tip (Sakihaba): 1.81 cm (0.71 in).
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.68 cm (0.27 in).
\nSword Weight: 0.58 g.
\nEra: Mid Muromachi period (around the 16th century).
\nShape: A wakizashi with substantial thickness, approaching the length of a katana.
\nPartially shortened with machi-okuri.
\nJigane: Very well-forged and tightly packed steel, showing high quality.
\nHamon: Nie-deki, gunome-midare mixed with pointed gunome.
\nKinsuji activity is present, and the boshi is midare-komi.<\/p>\n

Features: This wakizashi is signed \u201cKanesada\u201d on the front and \u201cKanetsune\u201d on the reverse.
\nIt is presumed that it was made by a father and son, or a master and his disciple.<\/p>\n

Historical Background: From around the Eisho era of the Muromachi period (1504\u20131521).
\nDue to its high quality, it is thought to be the work of the first-generation Kanesada.
\nThe signatures Kanesada and Kanetsune are distinctly divided.
\nThe hamon is \u0905\u0924\u094d\u092f\u306b beautiful.
\nThis wakizashi has been polished in sashikomi style.
\nThe hamon appears clearly, with distinct pointed gunome and visible kinsuji activity.
\nThe signature makes this a particularly interesting work.<\/p>\n
