Boshi is carved on the blade.
Jigane: Itame mixed with Masa and flawing Jigane patterns with much Jinie and Chikei.
Hamon: Ko-nie deki Notare and Gunome. Boshi is Midare-komi with Kinsuji and ends in Yakizume style.

Features:
Nariie of the Bizen Osafune school is said to have been a descendant of Kagehide, the younger brother of Mitsutada. He is traditionally regarded as belonging to the kozori group (a term referring to Osafune smiths outside the Kanemitsu lineage). However, as seen in this work, his style shows similarities to that of Kanemitsu, and the overall form appears more robust than typical late Nanbokuchō examples, suggesting a somewhat earlier period. These characteristics may indicate a connection with Kanemitsu. The Jūyō zufu commentary notes his skill as being equal to, if not surpassing Masamitsu of the Kanemitsu school.

From Aoi-Art:
This work is characterized above all by its wide mihaba and bold, imposing form. Kozori is an attribution often applied to Osafune blades of the late Nanbokuchō period; however, the sugata of this work is characteristic of early to mid Nanbokucho period.
The jigane is bright with ji-nie, and the hada shows rich variation, giving the piece a powerful presence and making it highly impressive.

68th NBTHK Juyo Certificate
Aoi Art estimation paper
Whole Oshigata

<img decoding="async" src="https://www.aoijapan.com/img/sword/2026/26142sayagaki.jpg
" alt="" width=“40%" height=“40%" />

Ordering Number: AS26142 Katana in Shirasaya(68th NBTHK Juyo Token) Signature: Unsigned (Mumei) (Nariie 成家) (We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku) This blade belongs to Saijo saku ranking.
