This piece is classified as Jo Saku, indicating its high craftsmanship.<\/p>\n<p>Habaki:shakudo covered single habaki<br \/>\nBlade Length: 68.4 cm (26.93 in)<br \/>\nCurvature: 2.1 cm (0.83 in)<br \/>\nHole for Pegs: 2<br \/>\nWidth at the Base: 2.97 cm (1.17 in)<br \/>\nWidth at the Tip: 1.81 cm (0.71 in)<br \/>\nThickness: 0.67 cm (0.26 in)<br \/>\nSword Weight: 535 grams<\/p>\n<p>Era: the mid Muromachi period, around 1500. <\/p>\n<p>Shape: slightly wide, thick blade with deep curvature and short tang with a difference in width between the base and the tip.<br \/>\nJigane: fine Ko-itame hada with Ji-nie.<br \/>\nHamon: Rather nioi-deki, gunome and Choji with ashi, sunagashi and kinsuji appear vividly, while the boshi is slightly midarekomi. <\/p>\n<p>Features:<br \/>\nTadimitsu was a swordsmith of the Osafune school, active from the Nanbokuch\u014d period through the Muromachi period. This piece is thought to be made in the early to mid Muromachi period, circa 1500.
