\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada forming a beautiful steel surface.
\nThe shinogi shows yakiba with a strong masame hada.
\nHamon: Nie-deki gunome-midare, with a somewhat hard impression in the temper pattern.<\/p>\n

Features: The first generation signed Michinaga, and around the same time adopted the name Miyoshi Nagamichi, continuing as a distinguished lineage up to the 10th generation.
\nThey were also called \u201cAizu Kotetsu\u201d and were highly popular swordsmiths.
\nThis work is by Miyoshi Nagamichi (8th generation), who was initially named Gonpachi and later changed his name to Toshiro.
\nHe passed away on November 27, 1865 at the age of 71.
\nThe hamon resembles that of the first generation, though it gives a slightly harder impression.<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nTsuba: Tatemaru-shaped iron tsuba with the rim covered in shakudo, decorated with karakusa design in gold nunome-zogan.
\nFuchikashira: Kurigata and Kojiri: Iron base with gold designs.
\nSaya (Scabbard): Black lacquered with patterns; part of the saya has been cut off.
\nMenuki: Leopard and tiger motif, carved and colored with gold.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: \u201cMizunoe-tora\u201d (Year of the Water Tiger) is a combination that occurs once every 60 years, most recently in 2022.
\nIn the Yin-Yang Five Elements theory, \u201cMizunoe (yang water = harsh winter energy)\u201d and \u201cTora (new budding and growth)\u201d overlap, symbolizing a positive year in which new life and growth emerge after overcoming a \u0995\u09a0\u3057\u3044 winter.<\/p>\n
