It shows the distinctive hamon of Hosokawa Masayoshi.<\/p>\n<p>Features: Chikara Masayoshi entered the school of Hosokawa Ryosuke Masayoshi, a retainer of the Tsuyama domain in Sakushu. He first signed as Masakata, later as Morihide. His works began from Kyowa 1 (1801). Later he changed his name to Masayoshi and passed away on June 6, Ansei 5 (1858). Hosokawa Masayoshi produced works in both the Bizen and Soshu traditions, with notable differences in workmanship, and the high quality of his works is remarkable. This piece is in the Bizen tradition, with choji-midare extending into the interior of the hamon.
