When the demand for swords increased rapidly during the Muromachi period, as wars broke out in various regions, the Osafune Sukesada school became one of the largest groups of swordsmiths of the time, establishing a division-of-labor system and producing large numbers of swords bearing the same name. Just as high-end brands handle both lower-priced products and custom-made items for elite clients, the Sukesada school also produced a wide range of swords—from practical blades meant to be consumed in battle to high-quality custom works made to order for daimyo and high-ranking samurai.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Mokko-shaped iron tsuba carved with fans with openwork.
Fuchikashirai: iron base carved with a design of camellia and birds.
Menuki: a design of kabuto(helmet).
Saya (Scabbard): black lacquered Saya with butterfly decoration.

NBTHK Hozon Token Certificate
AoiArt estimation paper: Whole Oshigata

Please note: the price does not include the shipping fees.

<img decoding="async" src="https://www.aoijapan.com/img/sword/2025/25741paper-1.jpg
" alt="" width=“60%" height=“60%" />

Katana in Koshirae (NBTHK Hozon Token) Signature: Bizen Osafune Sukesada saku 備前長船祐定作 (We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku).
