\nThe workmanship of this sword is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Mumei(Unsigned) (Enju).
\nHabaki: Gold Foil Single Habaki.
\nBlade Length: 2 shaku 3 sun 1 bu (69.9 cm (27.52 in)).
\nCurvature: 3 bu 5 rin (1.06 cm (0.42 in)).
\nMekugi Hole: 3 (1 filled).
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.89 cm (1.14 in).
\nSakihaba: 1.98 cm (0.78 in).
\nThickness (Kasane): 0.65 cm (0.26 in).
\nSword Weight: 735 g.
\nEra: Late Kamakura period, around the Kenmu era (1334). A work made about 692 years ago.
\nShape: A sword with solid mihaba and noticeable curvature, thick kasane, and a slightly extended kissaki.
\nJigane: Ko-itame hada, very well forged with clear utsuri appearing.
\nHamon: Suguha-deki with active ko-ashi, bright and clear in appearance.<\/p>\n

Features: This Enju work dates from the late Kamakura period and shows excellent utsuri.
\nThere are no rough areas in the jigane, forming a refined and excellent steel surface.
\nIt is a healthy blade and a work that can be highly recommended.<\/p>\n

Koshirae: (NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho Token).
\nTsuba: Shakudo polished ground tsuba (Kenjo Tsuba).
\nMenuki: Solid gold ground carved with a dragon design.

Historical Background: In the late Kamakura period, dissatisfaction with the Hojo clan\u2019s autocratic rule increased, while Emperor Go-Daigo actively promoted movements to overthrow the shogunate.
\nAt the same time, the monetary economy spread and commerce developed, while many gokenin (vassals) fell into serious financial hardship, leading to an era of turmoil that ultimately resulted in the fall of the Kamakura shogunate.
\nReasons often cited for the fall of the Kamakura shogunate include political instability, Emperor Go-Daigo\u2019s anti-shogunate movement, inability to respond to climate changes, the spread of the monetary economy, and the activities of lawless groups.
\nHowever, the decisive reason is still not fully understood.
\nOnce the momentum to overthrow the shogunate began to build, the anti-shogunate forces expanded rapidly in a short period of time.<\/p>\n
