Era: the early Edo period, Kan’ei 7, 1630<\/p>\n

Shape: wide and thick blade with slight carvature and long kissaki.
\nJigane: Ko-itame hada with fine Jinie.
\nHamon: nie deki Suguha with much nie consisting Koashi, Yo and niju-ba. <\/p>\n

Features: The first-generation Tadayoshi was a swordsmith who left many extremely fine works and passed away on August 15, Kanei 9 (1632) at the age of 61.
\nHe signed his blades with inscriptions such as \u201cHizen no Kuni Tadayoshi,\u201d \u201cJ\u016bnin Tadayoshi Saku,\u201d \u201cMusashi Daij\u014d Tadahiro,\u201d and \u201c\u014cmi Daij\u014d Tadahiro.\u201d A distinctive feature of the first generation is that the first stroke of the character \u201cHiro (\u5e83)\u201d is shaped like a diamond.
\nThis blade is an excellent example with a wide and robust shape, and it is very regrettable that it has been shortened (suriage).<\/p>\n
