Features: Bishu Osafune Sukesada was a group of swordsmiths active in the late Muromachi period.
\nThey produced a large number of swords.
\nKiyomitsu and others likewise produced many works, and numerous swordsmiths in Mino also created a great quantity of blades.
\nIt is said that battles were mostly fought with katana and tanto.
\nIn the Edo period, samurai came to commute to their respective castles and wore both long and short swords at their waists.
\nAs a result, there was no longer a need to possess tanto, and the production of tanto declined during the Edo period.
\nToday, many collectors seek rare Shinto tanto.<\/p>\n
