He studied under Osafune Sukesada and Enju Kunitsugu, and was active as a Rikugun Jumei Tosho (Army-appointed swordsmith).<\/p>\n<p>The sword tassel is red, which indicates that it was owned by a commissioned officer of field grade rank in the Imperial Japanese Army.
