\nShape: The blade has a wide body with thickness, retains its original ha (tempered edge), features a carved bohi (groove), and has a slightly extended kissaki (tip), resulting in a heavy piece.
\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with clearly visible fine grain, indicating high quality steel.
\nHamon: Made in ko-nie style with a deep nioiguchi. The ashi are well-defined and active. The boshi returns in a small round shape with a deep nioiguchi. The overall appearance resembles works from the Nanbokucho period.<\/p>\n

Features:
\nThe real name of the swordsmith Kenichi is Norihito Ueda. He was born on March 20, 1947, and resides in Funada City, Okayama Prefecture. He is a very skilled swordsmith, and I believe this piece was probably submitted for appraisal. As of now (2025), he is 78 years old.<\/p>\n

\nThis work is very well polished and has a solid double-layered gold-covered habaki.
\nThe jigane is excellent, and the hamon displays a deep nioiguchi.
\nThanks to this deep nioiguchi, the hamon flows softly toward the kissaki.
\nI believe it would likely win an Effort Award if submitted for appraisal.
\nThe shirasaya was also carefully crafted, and the workmanship can be clearly felt in this piece.<\/p>\n
