\nThis sword is ranked as Jyojyo Saku (superior grade) among the works attributed to Rai Kuniyasu.

\nA deeply curved blade with bohi (groove) carved on both sides and an extended kissaki (long point).
\nJigane: Ko-itame-hada, well-forged with visible grain and a refined surface.
\nHamon: Nioi-based suguha with ko-ashi, developing into irregularities toward the upper portion.
\nThe boshi is long and shows irregular turns.<\/p>\n

Features:
\nRai Kuniyasu was a swordsmith who moved from the Rai school to Echizen.
\nHe combined the stylistic elements of the Rai tradition with the characteristics of Echizen smiths.
\nAlthough some references date his work to the late Kamakura period, it is believed this sword was actually forged in the late Nanbokucho to early Oei period.
\nHis works are generally bright in appearance, with visible hada and often show utsuri.<\/p>\n
