works dated to Tenpo 6 (1835), suggesting he began forging around that time.<br \/>\nHe passed away in February of Meiji 3 (1870).<br \/>\nHe is famous as a smith of the Gassan lineage, and together with Gassan Sadakazu, he worked on recreating Gassan-hada and ayasugi-hada (mainly Sadakazu).<br \/>\nIn any case, he is renowned as a prominent swordsmith of the Gassan school.<\/p>\n<p>Aoi
