\nThis sword is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Oushu Aizu Ju Kanesada.
\nHabaki: Double-layered, copper base with silver
\nBlade Length: 2 shaku 3 sun 4 bu (70.9 cm \/ 27.91 in)
\nCurvature: 6 bu (1.8 cm \/ 0.71 in)
\nMekugi Hole: 1
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 3.05 cm (1.20 in)
\nWidth at Tip: 2.04 cm (0.80 in)
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.67 cm (0.26 in)
\nSword Weight: 725 g
\nShape: A wide blade with solid thickness, moderate curvature,
\nand slightly extended Kissaki.
\nJigane: Well-forged masame hada with a uniform and refined appearance,
\nresembling that of Sendai Kunikane.
\nChikei is also present.
\nHamon: Nie-deki Sanbonsugi-style hamon with fine kinsuji activity.
\nThe boshi is midarekomi and turns back.<\/p>\n

Features: Kanesada from Aizu is a very famous smith among Shinshinto makers.
\nThis particular blade is rare for its well-forged masame-hada jigane.
\nThe hamon is gunome-midare with kinsuji activity,
\nand the boshi shows a midarekomi pattern.
\nThe blade also features kinsuji and sunagashi.<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nTsuba: Iron tsuba with kanji characters in gold inlay on the front.
\nFuchi, Kashira, Kojiri: Iron.
\nSaya: Azuki-colored ishimeji saya.
\nMenuki: Carving of bird and moon, decorated with gold.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment:\u3000The 10th generation Kanesada was a swordsmith from Iwaki,
\nand his workmanship was outstanding.
\nThis piece, made with rare masame-hada jigane, closely resembles
\nthe works of Sendai Kunikane.
\nThe long and slender nakago and extended kissaki are also notable.
\nMasame-hada blades are rare, and we highly recommend this one by the 10th-gen Oushu Aizu Ju Kanesada.
\nWhile the koshirae is modest and avoids Edo-period flamboyance,
\nits simplicity may indeed reflect true beauty.
\nThe well-executed masame jigane and hamon are of excellent quality.<\/p>\n
